Afghan Family Resettlement

We are happy to report that with the full support of our Board of Trustees, Round Hill Community Church is entering a co-sponsorship with the First Presbyterian Church and the Greenwich International Ladies Group to resettle a family of Afghan evacuees in Greenwich. We are being guided in this effort by Jewish Family Services of Greenwich (JFS), which provides essential training, resources, and ongoing support.  Our group alone could not have done this without the leadership and support of JFS. They truly are an esteemed and vital contributor to life in Greenwich!

We have lots of updates to report. First off a big thank you to all of you! We couldn't have done it without all the generous donations and hard work from this amazing group of volunteers!

The Round Hill cottage is now fully furnished and stocked and offers a warm starting place to those Afghan evacuees we are helping to settle in our community. Simultanieously we were also able to secure a 3bd/2ba rental home in the glenville area of Greenwich for part of our family!

On Dec. 11, we welcomed our first family, who broght with them an additional family member born earlier in the week! We are fortunate that Mothers for Others has graciously offered to supply them with newborn and 2 yo diapers. We also had generous donations of a newborn carseat, additional car seats for the two older children and cribs.

Thank you so much again! The outpour of generosity from this group has been beyond moving.
This is a big undertaking, and we could use any help from those interested. We have 15 various teams to fill including, but not limited to:  transportation, employment, finances, youth education, and more. If you are interested in joining this rewarding endeavor or have goods to donate, please click here.

We are also looking for temporary and/or permanent housing options for the rest of the family (apartment, condo, private home, in-law suite). Please note rent will be paid for.

Blessings,  Ed Horstmann & Heather Krauseneck
