Common Ground
by Richard Levine
June 12 - July 8

Richard Levine, painter of the American landscape, finds inspiration in the natural world. “I am exploring the shared roots between geometric color field painting and the vernacular architecture of rural New England,” he explains. As for his use of medium, he says that “The ability to respond both instinctively and immediately has led to my current use of pastel, watercolor, and gouache.” Levine’s career has spanned more than 30 years in the graphic arts. He studied oil painting for four years with artists such as Alan Turner, and has exhibited widely on the East Coast.
