Round Hill Community Church (RHCC,) as part of its’ Green Church Initiative, invites the public to a presentation by distinguished wildlife veterinarian and founder of the Veterinary Initiative for Endangered Wildlife (VIEW), Dr. Deborah McCauley on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. Dr. McCauley will address the impact of global warming on endangered animals in her talk, “Saving Animals—Saving Our Planet.”

Dr. McCauley received her training at the Royal Veterinary College in London. As a wildlife veterinarian she has been involved with wildlife disease surveillance, capture and immobilization, field surgery, research and disease prevention. Through her work, she realized the need to focus on wildlife health and subsequently founded VIEW which offers workshops and training for local wildlife vets to ensure healthy local wildlife and build sustainable wildlife health initiatives that can be globally replicated. VIEW is the only conservation organization focused solely on the urgent need to address health threats as part of a comprehensive strategy for protecting endangered wildlife. Dr. McCauley’s work has taken her around the world, including to Chitwan National Park in Nepal, Yellowstone National Park, and the Rajaji Tiger Reserves in India.

In the past year, Round Hill Community Church has taken significant steps to become a faithful steward of this planet, the one thing we all share and the one place we all call home. The Church has dedicated itself to education and positive, hopeful action on behalf of the earth and in September 2019, received its Level 1 Green Certification from the Interreligious Eco-Justice Network, Connecticut’s only faith-based environmental non-profit organization.  RHCC is currently the only church in Greenwich with this designation and is working diligently on achieving its Level 2 status in 2020.
